A little of this a little of that!

Not any one person can have the right answer, the right solution, or even the right idea all the time. But, as a community we can lean on and listen to others in the room to take the best way forward. I have chosen five companies who actively blog to integrate their methods, techniques, and concepts to sculpt my personal brand.

Reolink

I felt the need to include Reolink cameras on my personal brand strategy primarily because this brand is one I heavily install. Reolink’s blog covers many topics, but categories for blogs can be broken down as such: Buyer’s Guide, Expert Safety Tips, home Security FAQs, Pro Tips & Fixes, How-to Guides, and Compare & Contrast. While my brand has only been installing security cameras for a few years, I’ve been asked a quite a few times the fair question of How much do you charge? I’ve provided a link for a more in-depth read. Many factors go into the cost of security camera installations. There is taking into consideration of how many cameras the customer wants, the placement of where they want to view the cameras, how many locations or buildings they want covered, quality of each camera, any preparation and special requirements, and the rate of labor. To customers it is about hanging up a camera and seeing instantly. But, to an installer, it’s much more than that. I prefer to make all my installs clean and aesthetic without cables showing. I also like to secure stables so they don’t droop and properly run them to the central viewing area and keep organized. This is can be a time consuming process. For individuals who are considering wireless cameras over wired, potential special requirements such as a dedicated or highly stable and even wireless network needs to be in place prior to camera installation. There has been times, where additional wireless routers needed to be installed to create a stable network for the cameras will remain online. I found Reolink’s blog with average camera installation cost to be helpful and will consider modifying this for my personal brand. This will help customers become more familiar with pricing so they are not shocked with a estimate, therefore they can plan accordingly.

Swann

Swann’s Blog offer a fairly clean look and user interface. Like others they include a link for Security Basics, Product Guides to consider which options are best for the viewer, New, Videos, and Solution Finder. Solution Finder is one I personally find interesting. Here is where Swann gets to know the potential client a little better. This options will help both home consumers and businesses to estimate how many cameras they are considering, their budge price range, and various features they might want. Then camera packages are suggested. My brand primarily does custom work, but I can see where this would be useful to narrow the choices to not overwhelm the customer. Swann uses an add to cart feature to begin the checkout process. This is smart for the conversion process. However, I would consider adding a contact form which the viewer can fill out. This will allow myself or another Emergy Media team member to reach out and verify coverage and method of installation to ensure the highest customer satisfaction.

CCTV Camera World

Since my brand is a local company located in rural Missouri, I am surrounded by farms. Farms which house thousands of dollars in both machinery and livestock. Most of my clients do not just cover their home, they cover barns, shops, and other outbuildings. My number two most asked question was Can I see my barn and shop from inside my home? This was certainly a yes, but I had to inform my customers most box retailers like Lowes, Home Depot and Menards do not offer camera systems to support this. After many inquiries I designed a system to now cater to rural areas. This blog post from CCTV Camera World will help me inform my customers to protect their property, investment, and home.

Security King

While browsing through Security Camera King’s Blog, they break down many of their hundreds of blogs to main categories like new product announcements, support for customer questions, How-To articles, etc. This is helpful in my branding so I can have the knowledge base to answer customer questions effectively. Furthermore, I find this helpful because this provides engagement to an audience. Rough estimate is each blog post received on average at least 4 additional post or replies.

A1 Security Cameras

A1 Security Cameras has helped secure many homeowners and businesses in the Dallas Texas area.Their blog is easily laid out with four simply categories for navigation: Industry News, Trends, Tips, and Technical. One of the biggest take aways from their blog is how A1 makes their business appeal to everyone, no matter the industry. From homes to schools, to the local grocery store they all have something worth protecting. Making my brand appeal and relate to all industries will be something I strive to do.
